Following the Grenfell Tower disaster in 2017, which killed 81 people, many of ABBEY’s Clients were understandably shocked and concerned. Several Clients required immediate risk assessments be carried out at their tenanted properties and reviews of their company policies and strategies relating to fire safety.

The Abbey Team of Fire Risk Assessors travelled across the UK to carry out Fire Risk Assessments on a wide range of properties, and to check that others within any multi-tenanted buildings were carrying out their duties correctly.

Issues such as defective fire doors, lack of appropriate signage, inaccessible fire exits, inoperable fire fighting equipment, faulty fire alarm systems, and many other fire safety hazards, were found and subsequently rectified following the input from ABBEY.
